The Trust always welcomes new applications for grants to fund charitable projects and organisations that promote public recreation, knowledge and safe enjoyment in the mountains of Scotland or elsewhere.
To fully evaluate the application the Trust need to know:-
- About the organisation and people applying for the funding.
- Does the project have a charitable aim supported by the SMT?
- Will it be successful?
- How much money is required from the SMT?
Full guidance can be found in the Application Guidance Notes . Like all charities, the activities of the Trust are governed by Government legislation and so the project must be for the benefits of the public and fall into at least one of the OSCR categories of charitable activity. Applicants for grants to assist with bolting of climbs are requiired to read and conform with the SMT Bolting Policy.
Please complete the attached application form and return it with the appropriate supporting documentation ( specified in the Guidance Notes ) by email or post to the Secretary of the Trust, see contact us.
There are two versions of the Application Form. A Word form version, which can be completed in Word, and a PDF version which you can print off and complete by hand. If you use the Word Form please print, sign and take a photo of the first page and send it back with the completed form.
The Trustees meet twice a year in the spring and autumn to consider the applications and award grants. Applications for consideration at the spring 2025 meeting should be submitted by 21 March 2025.
